The Village Voice is looking for a full-time
intern (25 hours per week) that can work in the
photo department for six months or more. The
position is available January 1, 2005. The
internship is a valuable hands-on learning
experience for those who want to pursue the field
of photojournalism. Although the internship is
unpaid, the intern gets paid for assigned shoots,
usually one per week. Applicant must have a basic
understanding of Photoshop. Other
responsibilities for the position include: photo
research (via internet, phone calls); helping to
arrange photo shoots, scanning negatives for
viewing/ editing purposes; photo trafficking:
coordinating filing and return of photos to
freelance photographers and agencies;
administrative duties and more.
