When I was in high school, a very special artist came to my nowhere town and picked a few people from the city offices and schools and had them draw pictures of their faces and then he blew them up and posted them around the city. And there were all these big smiling heads of your neighbors staring at you as you whizzed down the highway or giant pictures of your classmates leering as you crossed campus to get to gym class. I somehow got picked to do my picture and there was a giant smiling me on the art building for a year.

Harrell Fletcher, the artist, is a beautiful magical person with very Fluxus style public art projects.
