ready to pass the line

impromptu photo shoot sans windex - april 2007

Today swim class was cancelled. I missed last week. I am ready to swim past the line but I need the teacher there for when I don't make it.

So the internet went down at work on Monday and we haven't seen hide nor hair of it since. It's alright by me though. I've been busy reading A Short History of Nearly Everything by Bill Bryson and The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene. One of the partners walked by me today and stopped dead in his tracks when he saw me reading 48 Laws, it turns out he started the whole fad of hip-hop folks reading the book back five or so years ago when he gave his good friend (a big deal hip hop manager) the book (which at the time was just lost in the sea of self-help books). The writer has now teamed up with aforementioned big hip hop manager to do a hip hop version of the book. I hate to hear they are doing hip hop versions of things. It always makes me think of the rapping Fruity Pebbles commercial.

I am glad to be reading both of these books at the same time. I feel like my mind is being blown with every page I turn. So much is infinitely unfathomable. I think I'll start taking things less seriously.

By the way, here's the boat I'll be in in Slovenia.

Good times.
